Bio:

The Amnesty International Chapter of Rufus King High School envisions a world in which every person enjoys all of the human rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international human rights standards; strives to undertake research and action focused on preventing and ending grave abuses of the rights to physical and mental integrity, freedom of conscience and expression, and freedom from discrimination, within the context of its work to promote all human rights.

We have partnered with the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) Student Alliance of Wisconsin to work on local/domestic civil and constitutional rights issues. This will allow us to advocate for issues that many students at our school can identify with.

Our group is also recognized an official chapter of Liberty in North Korea (LiNK), an organization that supports Korean defectors and advocates for better humanitarian conditions in the DPRK.

Why We're Involved

Our school's Amnesty/ACLU chapter is very proud to be a member of LiNK because we believe strongly in the mission to promote equal rights for all people worldwide. LiNK is a great organization to help us pursue these goals, while focusing on North Korean humanitarian issues.
