LiNK Winnipeg was founded when the president of LiNK saskatoon went home for summer vacation and while there made a presentation at the Calvary Temple church. After the presentation three people who were moved by the injustice of the situation in North Korea spoke with him asking how they can get involved. The LiNK president torn between his commitment to his studies and his own LiNK chapter decided to commit to helping the three activists start the chapter in Winnipeg. In no time at all the four of them gathered a group of young people who were passionate about about making a difference for North Korean citizens and were actively raising awareness. The group started out by performing on the street and then not four months after being founded set up a concert to raise awareness about the North Korean crisis.
