You know those days when your job is just awesome?
Lucky for me, that's many days... but today especially. I come in this morning to sit down at my computer, open up my email, and find my inbox full of amazingly positive words and stories from LiNK chapters. The year is rolling along, and chapters are proudly pushing forward!!
In the next week or so alone, LiNK chapters are holding so many inspiring events: from a human rights rally in central Canada, to a speech from an NK refugee in North Carolina, to a benefit concert in Illinois. And all the while, chapters are hosting film screenings across the country to bring knowledge of the North Korea issue to new audiences. I keep getting this mental image - one of little lightbulbs flashing all over North America... turning on as more and more people get tuned into the NK issue. It's amazing that so many groups across the continent are working toward the same goal and a meaningful reminder that we are ALL a part of this movement together.
Not only are chapters constantly increasing awareness of the North Korea crisis, they're also working SO hard to raise funds that actually help save lives and give North Korean refugees freedom. Every day, the individuals that have committed themselves to this movement are putting themselves out there, sharing their conviction by talking to people and doing whatever it takes to help boost this cause. I'm especially inspired today by a few emails from chapters, letting me know that they are steadily on the way to reaching their financial goal of rescuing a refugee! Not only are these chapters making a huge impact financially, they're actually planning to EXCEED their goals. I LOVE hearing this because it means that LiNK can do more field work, which is wonderful, but it also demonstrates chapters' commitment and passion for the North Korea issue.
So Chapters, give yourselves a pat on the back. I feel really good about you guys today :)
